Ruby The Guard Dog

Ruby and I were at PetsMart yesterday and she was in a mood. I mean, good grief. She didn't want any big dogs by her and would snarl at them. Not my usual Ruby.

Anyway. Whenever we go to PetsMart she always does something hilarious. This time she was barking at a giant fake dog hanging from the ceiling. The giant fake dog was hanging from the ceiling as part of their system for distinguishing the dog area. She kept going and going, barking and howling.

Well, I know I am safe from giant fake dogs hanging from the ceiling. You make me feel so much safer Ruby. Good job!

  1. My brave guard dog sister Katie used to be afraid of lawn ornaments. She would run to the other side of the street at the sight of a garden gnome or pink pelican.

    1. Oh my. I wonder what Ruby would do if we got any type of lawn ornaments. It would be interesting as she barks at shadows and her own reflection.

  2. That's funny! I don't think Haley ever looks up because she's too busy sniffing all the shelving corners to see who's been there lately. :)

    1. Ruby just started looking up for some reason. She is usually like your Haley, only she is picking out food, treats, and toys for mommy to buy. Ruby is such a great helper.... like I need any help shopping and spoiling them. ;)

    1. She sure is! :) However, she also barks at shadows and her reflection. I appreciate the shadow barking unless it is late at night and I know nothing is there. I don't want her to wake the neighbors and their little ones.;)

  4. LOL Jedi barks at the giant cat picture on the cat litter display at Petco. Every. Single. Time.

    1. Ruby barks at the giant pictures of dogs and cats on the outside of the training center. No matter how much I try to convince her that they aren't real, they are still getting barked at.
