Costume Time!

Ruby and Emmy got their costumes!

Ruby got jumped by a black cat! Oh my!!! She has more fun playing with the cat as a toy. She kept trying to pull it off.

Riding cowboy...I mean, mouse...

Emmy wasn't sure what to do because Ruby kept trying to pull the mouse off and so ended up dragging her a little. I mean a little, Emmy weighs a good amount.

Emmy Gives Ruby Rubs

It was so cute how Emmy was giving Ruby some rubs. Ruby wasn't sure what to do. She kept looking at me. When she tried to back away, Emmy whacked at her.

Ruby's First Dental Appointment!

On October 3rd, Ruby had her first dental and comprehensive exam. This meant that she had to do fasting and get dropped off at 7 in the morning on Saturday.

We arrived!!!

I was nervous on how she would do because she is still warming up to strangers, but she did great. She didn't growl or anything at drop off.

She weighed 55lbs. Good grief! A lot more than her 45lbs when we first adopted her.

 Smelling the scents.

I had to walk her to the door to the back as she wouldn't walk with the person that was at the front. As soon as the door closed I heard, "No, this way Ruby." I could tell that she noticed that I hadn't followed and was trying to turn back.

There she is!!

At pick up I found out that they do a lot more for dogs than cats. I didn't know that a heartworm test was included in the plan, as well as one for lyme disease and a few others that I don't recall. I had them clip her nails while she was under so they were able to get really close to the quick which was nice. They weren't able to collect a pee sample so they gave me a container to catch it in. After I picked her up, we walked around and I got my pee sample! They said she did great and had no issues with strangers which I was so glad to hear.

Really blurry but she was in a rush!

Ruby Turns 2!!!

So on September 26th, our dear little Ruby turned two years old!!!

We started off the day getting her paw print. I have ones for Sydney, Emmy, and Benjamin already, but had yet to get one for Ruby.

Garrett helped me get it all ready. I missed the part about wetting her paw first, so we spent some time getting the stuff off of her paw before trying again. The end result turned out great though! It is currently air drying...well, it is probably dry by now... and can get hung up.

We then headed to PetsMart to get more dry dog and cat food and let Ruby pick out a birthday toy. She was afraid of the fishes. It must have been the big eyes the goldfish had right?

We were given a sample while we walked around. I happened to have ordered some and was waiting for them to come in the mail. I am working on switching everyone over to more raw food.

 She enjoyed the sample....thank goodness!!

At PetsMart she picked out this grunting hedgehog creature.

I bought her a dog birthday cookie which she wasn't sure about and didn't eat much of.

The kitties got treats while Ruby got her cookie.
