Ruby Got Her PupScouts Welcome Packet! #pupscouts

We are too excited! Today Ruby got her PupScouts welcome packet.

I am so excited to see that she even has a membership badge! I will be attaching it to her leash when we go out on activities.

So it's official now, she is a PupScout. I just need to have a uniform made for her. So Ruby and I are troop leaders of PupScout Troop 360 in Washington, so please go to www.pupscouts.org and join!

She wanted to carry around her new badge in her mouth

Scouts aren't just for boys and girls anymore! Ruby will be earning badges, conducting fundraisers, and selling PupScout cookies. Please join our troop today!

Riley's Organics Peanut Butter and Molasses Recipe Dog Treats #PetPawLooza #ProductReview

I think this is Ruby's favorite Sampler's #PetPawLooza score ever! It was hard to get clear pictures of her with the bag and treats because she was wanting to take the bag and open it herself!

 Eyeing the bag intently.

She took the bag from my hand and took it into her house to try and open it

This ingredient list makes me happy and giddy! All organics with no added sugar salt, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors, soy, and my favorite, no wheat or corn. Those are two grains I know Ruby is not eating! I have to be careful how much I give her because there are still oats in it, but she is not having any gas like she does when she has something with too much grain.

Yes, they are tiny but they perfect for small frequent treats or shall we say puzzle treats!

I wanted to try and balance them on Ruby's nose but she was too quick for me.

Yum Yum!!!!!!!!!

I am definitely writing down Riley's Organics Peanut Butter and Molasses Recipe Dog treats on my list of treats to give Ruby in her puzzles.

By Nature Active Defense Pork and Sweet Potato Recipe Dog Food #PetPawLooza #ProductReview

During Sampler's #PetPawLooza, I scored a sample of By Nature's Active Defense Pork and Sweet Potato Recipe Dog Food.

Since these are dog food samples, I decided to use them as treats for Ruby's puzzles.

At first, she wasn't sure about that. She just smelt them and looked at me,

Eventually she took them. I filled up her puzzles and she excitedly went to work. Ruby didn't eat them all. I like how they are full of high quality proteins, antioxidant-rich super foods, and probiotic fibers.

Happy National Dog Day Ruby!

I want to wish Ruby and all the puppies around the world Happy National Dog Day!

Sunroom Sunbathers

I love it when Miss Emmy and Miss Sydney sunbathe. I love how their fur is so warm afterwards.

Woof Off!

Ruby got excited while she was in the sunroom as she saw some deer in the neighbor's yard. She started barking and howling at them. Let's just say, they only ran away when the neighbor's child came running towards them. I guess they don't consider Ruby so threatening when she is across the yard up high. Ruby was upset and kept whining and pacing when they didn't run when she barked and that she couldn't go after them.

Bravo's Freeze Dried Raw Homestyle Complete Beef Dinner for Dogs #PetPawLooza #ProductReview

A couple months ago I participated in Sampler's #PetPawLooza and scored this sample. Man, I think I found Ruby's new dinner food.

I love how it is grain and gluten free and there are no artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors. Yes it is raw and no I am not worried. I know some people are worried about going "raw" because of risks like E. Coli and Salmonella. Yes, it is something to be aware of, but I am subscribed to e-mail alerts from Dog Food Advisor and I get e-mails when any type of pet food/treat recall is going on.

Her meal was so easy to make! I love how it is broken down into weights and how many cups of food. The sample bag was just enough!

Easy enough instructions right?! I love how it lets you know to use 1 1/2 cups of warm water if you want a dinner with a light broth.

Water time!

Time for her to work on her patience....

Ruby...food...patience?! Nope! Time to head outside while we wait for it to "cook" for 15-20 minutes. She only made it to 15 minutes though.

 Waiting

Distraction time!

Almost ready!!!

Ready..... Set.....

GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruby thoroughly enjoyed it and I felt great feeding her something fresh and healthy. Time to pick some up and stop buying her can food.

OMG! When Did You Get So Heavy?!

I was reviewing My Banfield online and decided to see how much Emmy and Ben weighed at their last appointment. Goodness me! Emmy was 13lbs and Ben was 12lbs. How did this happen?! Now I need to strategize how I can help them lose weight. I already know about cutting back on the wet food.

I wonder if switching them to a more grain free diet will help. If they are like human bodies, which are not the best at digesting grain, perhaps switching to something that is not so grainy will help with their digestion and help them trim down. I have to be careful. I need there to be enough wet food for Syd to have some so she won't get dehydrated. Also, I can't make too much of an adjustment to their dry food as that is Syd's main food source.

Ugga.

Trying Out Coconut Oil With The Kitties

I decided that I would see if the kitties would like to have some coconut oil as well. It helps Ruby out so much with her fur plus it has many other healthy benefits. There was a thing online that if you swish the coconut oil in your mouth for a certain length of time for a certain amount of days, your teeth will be a lot whiter and their enamel will be stronger. As you can see, I remember the article oh so clearly. ;)

So I thought, "Why Not?" The babies get their teeth cleaned once a year but any extra help in between would be great. Especially since Emmy lost a tooth for no apparent reason.

Breakfast with Ruby

Garrett decided to have Ruby sit with us at the table. He put his plate in front of her for the photo. She didn't eat off of it though. Ruby got her own plate of puppy approved food afterwards on the ground.

Harvey Visits Upstairs

I don't usually post much about Harvey. Perhaps it is because he doesn't cause as much craziness around here as his siblings.
After a swim to get him his exercise and help him poop, I brought him upstairs. I made a little fenced area for him using cat toys. So Harvey just chilled upstairs with me for a little while I worked on homework.

Bag Time!

I just love it when the kitties hide somewhere and surprise me as I walk by. Emmy and Benjamin had the same hiding place idea. Only Ben also used it to hide in and try and whack Ruby as she walked by.

Sharing the Yard with Mommy Bird and Baby Birds

While playing ball outside it was recently discovered that in our tree we have a bird's nest with some very vocal chicks. So... when they get really loud, Ruby decides that she is done playing with the ball and wants to try and find the mommy and baby chicks.

Ruby really gets interested in the birds too. She could be across the yard and in the process of running for the ball, will stop, face the tree, and sometimes run to the tree as soon as she hears some chirps.

She was in the process of getting the ball

The nest is up too high for her to get it, but it is still fun seeing her jump trying to get it anyway.
