Ruby's Grain Free Diet Starts Today!

Okay, so when we adopted Ruby we were told that she has a grain allergy. I did not realize that a grain allergy meant terrible gas.

So the food she was on when we first adopted her was not the best. I realized that the only grain it did not contain was corn. I guess that was thought sufficient enough with the previous owner. So I talked with the vet about food options and I have made a plan.

1st Step: Work on converting her to treats or rawhides that are grain free.

Goodbye Pupperoni!

I will continue to use the Grain Free Greenies that I had already put her on.

I was at a sampling event and she fell in love with these Grain Free Chicken Recipe Meatballs. Unfortunately, I can't find them at my local store. If you find them, you should get them!

I had to get a substitute for the Pupperoni so I got these. The same brand as the Chicken Recipe Meatball Treats she liked, so hopefully she will like these. She did pick them out- literally. She grabbed the bag off of the shelf.

2nd Step: Start mixing Grain Free Dry Food in with her current dry food. I will post pictures of the bags later. If she doesn't like the brand, I will move to the next dry food option.

3rd Step; Start doing half a can of her current wet/canned food with a new brand of wet/canned food which I am still comparing brands.

I know it is too much to ask for, but I hope the treat switching will make a small impact on the gassy situation.
